Diploma thesis in cooperation with Schaller Messtechnik
Lena and David share a passion - for electrical engineering. Together they are currently attending the 5th class at the HTL Weiz and together they are also working on their exciting diploma thesis in cooperation with the company Schaller Messtechnik.
"It was important to us to choose a topic for the dissertation, the result of which is of real benefit," says David, who has already completed an internship at Schaller Messtechnik twice during the summer holidays. Lena and David have been working on a system for homogenizing moistened grain samples for almost a year now. The task came from the innovative family business in St. Ruprecht and world market leader in the field of humidity measurement: Schaller Messtechnik GmbH.
Project with great benefit
A question of efficiency in the production process of the measurement technology company, which had been a problem for a long time, was to be clarified in this way. Now the two are about to finish their work and are in the process of installing the system, which was realized as a profile frame construction, in a refrigerator from the Schaller company on site. The two schoolmates have invested countless hours of work and a great deal of knowledge in the project. They worked not only at school, but also at home. Of course, the regular coordination with the technical management of Schaller Messtechnik and with the two HTL professors Dipl. Ing. Klaus Gruber and Dipl. Ing. Robert Ulmer were particularly important. Even a small mistake in the middle of the project could not demotivate Lena and David. They patiently changed misjudged parameters and continued their teamwork with determination.
"The most fun was the implementation - assembling the individual parts," says Lena. This is understandable, since the planning phase was very challenging and intensive. In any case, the effort was worth it: Lena and David present the result of their high-quality diploma thesis! They solved the exciting task with perfect teamwork. The result is a sophisticated system for homogenizing moistened grain samples. This perfectly optimizes the calibration preparation processes at Schaller. All the best and continued success to the two technology fans!
