Handling and measurement process
To measure, choose a part of the wood WITHOUT bark, branches, pitch pockets or cracks. Switch on the humimeter BLW wood moisture meter, now plug the sensor cable into the socket in the correct position and fix the plug by turning the screw connection. Select the correct wood species or wood group and drive the ram or hand probe in across the grain direction.
You can immediately read the measured value from the display and save it. To increase the measurement accuracy, carry out several measurements and save them. The device automatically calculates the mean value from the stored measured values in a matter of seconds.
With the standard nails, the device is suitable for determining the moisture in firewood and measures the wettest point over the entire penetration depth. With the insulated nails (item no.: 11482) you can determine the moisture at a defined measuring depth, as these only measure at the tip.
